The induction program was brought in with a view to uplift the level of the fresher students to an elevated stage, and to promote all-round development. Learners come with diverse thoughts, backgrounds & perceptions. Hence it becomes important to help them adjust to the new environment & inculcate the culture of the institution. The objectives of the programme is to make the students feel comfortable in their new environment, open them up, set a healthy daily routine, create bonding in the batch as well as between faculty members and students, develop awareness, sensitivity and understanding of the self, people around them, society, and nature. Major activities under the induction programme were planned and executed in which the students would be fully engaged throughout the day for the entire duration of induction.
Welcoming of fresher’s students and Inaugural of Induction
Induction Program began with enrolment of new students with formal welcome on August 1, 2019. The programme was inaugurated in the presence of eminent dignitaries. Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony was Prof. Udaykumar R. Yaragatti, Director, MNIT and Guest of the honor Dr Sanjay Palnitkar, Technical Director, AQURA Labs Pvt. Ltd, Jaipur, eminence including Shri Shashi Kant Singhi, Chairman, Poornima Group, Shri. M.K.M Shah, Director (Admin& Finance) Poornima Group , Ar. Rahul Singhi, Director Poornima Group, Prof (Dr) Dinesh Goyal, Director PIET .
Lectures by Eminent People
On 2nd August, 2K19 a motivational lecture was given by Dr. R L Raina, Vice Chancellor JK Lakshmipat University. He inspired the budding technocrats with his words of wisdom. In his lecture he asked students to take a pledge to dedicate them truly for the domain they have chosen with absolute sincerity.
Universal Human Values:
The main objective of such Induction Program are to inculcate basic human values to all budding technocrats so that they can provide their services to society in a better way and to make their own life with long term real happiness. It gets the student to resist peer pressure, take decisions with Courage and emphasize the problems related to happiness, welfare, aspirations, goals and success in an individual’s life and challenges being faced by the people at individual, family, society and environmental levels.
“Better interaction between Technical institutions and industry is the need of the time”. By aiming this view, Poornima Institute of Engineering & Technology has organized Industry Visit to Jaipur Metro, largest project on Metro, Apssino (A software company), Central Institute Of Plastics Engg & Tech., jaipur (Plastic Equipment manufacturing Industry). With these varieties of industries, our students got diverse exposure to various industries on August 8th and 13th under the guidance of Dr. Mukesh Chandra and Mr. Nitin Mukesh mathur.
Visits to local area:
Travels and visits are not just the seeing of sights; they trigger experiential learning that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living. With this aim, our first year students visited various historical places of Jaipur like Amber Fort, Birla Temple, Jantar-Mantar, Birla Science Musium, Albert Hall under the guidance of Mr. Ashok Kumar on August 8th and 13th
Tree Plantation: Students were motivated to plant Trees around the campus under the supervision of Dr. Gautam Singh on August 9th, 2019
Interaction with TPO
Students were also interacted with our Chief Trainning and Placement officer, Ms. Deepti Lodha on August 6th. By this interaction, students learned about various aspects of getting placement in future.
Interaction with Leadership
A memorable session was conducted with Ar, Rahul Singhi Sir with the aim of How to lead four years journey in POORNIMA. The session started with a special style of introducing each other and to focus on some important tips of time management.
Students got a golden opportunity to meet and interact with Dr. Dinesh Goyal (Director, PIET). It was really inspirational for the students which make them comfortable with institute philosophy.
Not only that, Students also got a chance to meet with kind hearted Dr. Gautam Singh (Chief Proctor) who make them aware about Student Welfare Policy in PIET.
Branch Specific Interaction:
Two special sessions were also executed under the guidance of Mr. Deepak Moud, Head of Department, CS and Dr. Pran Nath Dadhich, Head of Department, Civil. These special sessions were planned and executed, to give a deep insight about their branch and future scope.
Language Proficiency and Literary Activity:
Literary activities related to reading, writing, debating and enacting a play were also a part of Induction program under the guidance of Dr. Ritu Soryan and Ms. Pratibha Sisodia. The session includes various activities like Word Game, Picture perception, Storytelling with few clues etc. Finally the whole activity was full of enjoyment and students were able to cope up with nervousness. And helps a lot to remove language fear, which is really a vital point that to be addressed at the time of entry in engineering field.
Creative arts: Art and design stimulates creativity and imagination. Students become involved in shaping their environments through art and design activities. They learn to make aesthetic and practical decisions. They explore ideas and meanings through the work of artists and designers. Different types of activity were planned and executed like Tattoo, Arts and Crafts, Card Making, Poster Making, paper crafting etc. under the guidance of Dr. Anurika Mehta and Dr. K K Gupta.
Physical activity: “A healthy body is pure nourishment for healthy mind”
For fulfilling this aim, a systematic weekly plan of physical activity with games and sports was organized to develop team spirit and to enjoy a healthy life. It was including outdoor as well as indoor activities like Box Cricket, Kho-Kho, Basket Ball, Chess, Carom etc. under the guidance of Mr. Ashok Kumar and Dr. Mukesh Chandra.
A special session was organized to give a brief idea about various technical workshops and seminars so that students can explore themselves in fast growing technical advancement from day 1. The session was taken by Mr. Arshad Ali. Importance of MOOC courses was also introduced.
External Clubs were also introduced to students like Toast Master Club and Yi Club with the aim of Public speaking Confidence building, leadership qualities, and time management skills.
A joyful environment with complete learning was also given to students through a movie show of PASANGA-2
